This is a fun project that you can do in the course of a week or a month. Take your time and get creative! As you make the drawings to go onto your colourful landscape, this artwork becomes an interactive wall hanging that you can play around with. If you want to move your drawings around they can be moved without wrecking your paper by using masking tape. You can make your imagination go wild and create anything you’d like in your picture; from animals in a forest or lakes full of fish, skies with rockets or can make up a world or recreate the one we live in.

  1. coloured construction paper or card stock (for the background)

  2. white sturdy paper - card stock or watercolour paper (to draw the characters, objects and wildlife)

  3. Masking tape

  4. pencil

  5. markers, paints or crayons (to colour your artwork with)

To make this colourful landscape:

Put coloured construction paper connected together onto your wall with masking tape and created a beautiful colourful landscape.

During the week: add characters, objects, plants, animals, mushrooms, mountains, a rainbow, clouds, rocks, insects...anything you think of!

Create: draw your drawing on thick white paper like card stock and colour it with marker, watercolour or crayon.

Cut and tape: cut out your artwork and use masking tape to tape it on. The tape won’t rip the paper (use think paper) so if you want to remove or rearrange your images you can do so freely.

At the end of the week take a photo or a video of the camera panning up.

Add other colours too, like black with a moon and stars, if you’d like.

Create it entirely on your own or you can work together in partners or even with a larger group to create some unique collaborative artwork.
